Book Cover Opportunity!

I got the opportunity to design a book cover, they sent me an email to create a ship with sails (gave me a sample picture) and then said we would move forward with the cover from what I come up with. I think it was a test but this is what I came up with. Keep you posted on whether or not they are going to use it.

The Raven

An animatic/story boarding I did in my concept class. We were given the senario of a raven, a man, and a flower pot and told to make a story out of it. This is what I came up with. :)

Character Design Sketches

Character Designs

These are my character designs for my story in concept. It's about a little girl who builds sand castles and sells them as homes to the beach crabs. Pinch is the tiny crab who can't afford a sand castle but Nia builds the one he feels he is destined to have. Pinch stumbles across a clam and kicks it in frustration but is excited to find a pearl inside the clam! He scurries back to the sand castle but Nia is already auctioning it off. Pinch presents the clam but everyone laughs at him...until he opens it and reveals the pearl. Pinch wins the castle and Nia receives a beautiful pearl.

More Lasso Painting

Had to take my car into service today and so I had some free time to experiment more with lasso painting! So I made this little bug and the big challenge he has ahead of him

Story Ideas

Concept is my favorite class. We were give 6 broad scenarios and we have to pitch two story ideas

First one is dog vs pigeon (two characters that want the same thing)

•1. Dog is tied up to parking meter outside a store by owner, dog is patted on head and owner heads into store•2. Dog smells something enchanting.•3. Dog runs towards hamburger on the ground but is snapped backwards from his leash.•4. Pigeon flies in and is about to start eating hamburger but the dog barks at him playfully
•5. Pigeon selfishly taunts the dog with the burger and the dog turns to leave•6. Pigeon laughs and is about to sink his beak into the burger when the dog comes bounding towards him and his leash breaks free•7. Frightened the pigeon braces himself for death but the dog bites the sandwich in half and nudges the other half to the pigeon and gives him a huge lick.

Second one is a little girl and a homeless crab at the beach:

•1. Little girl is perfecting her sand castle when she comes across a miniature boot
•2. She calls to her mom saying “Look what I found in my sandcastle” and holds up the mini boot•3. She turns back to the castle and sees a little crab in rags digging into the castle’s front door, the little girl screams in fright•4. The crabs jumps back and crawls to go hide behind the corner of the castle•5. The little girl sees the crabs fear and curiously reaches out to him and the crab reaches back•6. They touch and the little girl grimaces and then realizes the crab is trying to shake her finger and she lights up•7. The little girl finishes the perfect sand castle home for her new crab friend

We are going to pitch them to the class and then the class will help us pick on and we will create an animatic of the story. :)

Lasso Painting

I went to a demo on how to Lasso paint in photoshop today, it was really cool so I thought I would try it out. Did a waterfall landscape and then decided to add in an adventurous kayaker :)

Penguin

In my computer animation class we had to model and exact replica of this penguin toy guy. And this is him, and I now I hate penguin toys.

Old Summer Project

This was a project I worked on over the summer. We found this baby mouse (we later named him Fifle) and we tried to save him but unfortunately he ended up dying over night. He was so precious though so I made a piece all about him :)

Axle

This is my character design for my next Traditional Animation project which is a lip sync. He will be talking to a reporter about his encounter with a UFO. 

I did this in photoshop, just a rough painting. Trying to get better at digital painting :)

Polygon Model Concept

Our next project in my CA class is to model an object with two legs basically. Later we will animate it jump, turn and walk. This is some of the concept art for my ideas :)
